01 Background

Stanley Capital is a private investment firm dedicated to an uncommon alignment of interests: a unique fee structure, significant personal investment, and scale constraints to ensure return on our own capital remains the primary economic incentive.

02 Challenge

Stanley Capital came to us looking for a clean revamp of their outdated website, that hadn't been touched in several years. They posed an interesting design question, how far can we push "modern" concepts, while retaining the classic feel. In addition, they wanted to feature a chart displaying relevant S&P500 data to show prospective investors the general strategy at play.

03 Solution

Our primary goal with this project was to craft a deep design language around Stanley's logo. Our first draft saw a parallax style checkerboard pattern that would counter-scroll with the user, creating a unique illusion as the user scrolled. While it was an interesting and modern approach, it strayed a little too far from the classic look Stanley was looking for. Taking a second crack at it, we settled on using the flat checkboard look to craft compelling isometric backgrounds.
